Fırat Neziroğlu: From Tradition to the Future with the Anatolian Textile Network

The women of Nevruz Village, a cooperative based in the village of Yenice in Çanakkale, have nurtured their craftsmanship and extended their heartfelt labor to different corners of Turkey.

With the visionary leadership of their mentor, Ayşe Pirhasoğlu Akbaş, they have become a shining example for women’s cooperatives across Turkey. The cooperative is entirely managed by local women, reflecting their deep-rooted connection to the community.

From the very first day I visited Nevruz Village, we set out to create a fabric unique to Nevruz. With four looms installed in the village, I designed a fabric inspired by the unique climate and geography of Nevruz. We named this fabric Nevruz Fabric. One day, it will be recognized as the traditional fabric of Nevruz.
